A refined take on the Alpine chalet
The Day House Renovation transforms a 1960s chalet into a minimalist family retreat designed for communal living. Prioritizing generous shared spaces over decorative details, it accommodates up to ten people within a compact yet open layout.

Contextual yet contemporary
Set at 1700 meters in the village of Zinal, the project engages with a place shaped by pastoral life and early Alpine tourism. Its exterior echoes traditional forms, anchoring the house in its surroundings while quietly diverging from convention.

Hidden volumes, unexpected light
The renovation conceals a surprising interior behind its restrained facade. Inspired by Swiss mountain shelters, it reveals bright, spacious rooms that contrast with the modest exterior, creating a subtle sense of discovery.

Fiction meets function
Behind its familiar outline, the house challenges expectations through spatial innovation. By blending architectural disguise with purposeful design, it offers a contemporary response to the Alpine vernacular.
