Traditional forms, reimagined
House F in Upper Austria draws on the region’s rural heritage through its trio of steep gabled volumes. Instead of one large mass, HPSA breaks the house into three distinct forms along the street, echoing historic barns while introducing a refined, contemporary rhythm.

Living around a courtyard
At the core lies a sheltered courtyard, defined by vertical timber elements and anchored by a sculptural staircase that spirals around a tree. The space opens onto a pool and garden, offering privacy while connecting the interior to its sloping surroundings.

Timber screens and filtered light
Vertical wood slats wrap the facade, occasionally transforming into screens that diffuse light into the home. Carefully placed openings frame views and ensure a continuous dialogue between interior and landscape, maintaining a sense of calm enclosure.

Warmth and openness within
Inside, natural wood dominates—softening spaces and enhancing the spatial clarity. A floating staircase and exposed gables add sculptural depth, while expansive windows bring the Alpine landscape directly into the living areas.
