A familiar presence
The new Village Bank, Unteriberg draws directly from the village’s building culture, integrating calmly into the center without gestures of dominance. Its gabled facade forms a recognizable address, reinforcing the collective image of the village core while naturally guiding visitors toward both the bank and the residential entrances above.

Spatial dialogue
A polygonal footprint organizes orthogonal rooms along each side, while an interior zone unfolds between them as a space for circulation and encounter. Expanding and narrowing sequences create movement, allowing daylight to enter from multiple directions and concentrate within the building’s heart.

Hybrid construction
A hybrid structural concept defines the project. Floors and load-bearing interior walls are executed in solid construction, while the outer envelope is conceived as a timber structure freed from structural responsibility. This approach balances durability with flexibility and clarity.

Material continuity
Local material traditions shape the appearance. Wooden shingles wrap the upper facade above a grounded concrete base articulated by vertically recessed reliefs. Precisely ordered windows bring calm across all levels, while a new village fountain strengthens the renewed public center.
