The house, designed by Juri Troy Architects, is situated on a steep slope in Vorarlberg, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The lot is accessed from the lower part of the hill, while the house itself is positioned as high as possible to maximize the panorama. The challenging terrain necessitated innovative solutions, with the design adapting seamlessly to the steep slopes to harmonize with the natural environment.

To conserve resources, the building’s footprint was kept intentionally small, and the basement avoids being deeply embedded into the slope. Inside, the use of rammed earth for some walls not only enhances sustainability but also adds a tactile, earthy aesthetic to the living spaces. Additionally, a prefabricated oven was carefully transported to the site, integrating functional and efficient design elements.

The southern roof is equipped with a photovoltaic system, providing the house with sustainable energy. This approach to renewable energy underscores the project’s commitment to environmental stewardship, making it a perfect example of architecture that blends innovation, efficiency, and a deep respect for the landscape.
