On a gentle hillside in Sistrans, Tirol, three sibling residences offer a quiet reinterpretation of Alpine tradition. Comprising two single-family homes and one two-unit building, the ensemble balances individuality with cohesion. Gabled roofs and open chimneys echo local vernacular forms, while vertical larch panels wrap the façades in a warm, tactile rhythm. Minimal visible concrete and a focus on timber construction reinforce the project’s grounded, natural character.

Designing with restraint and intention
The architectural language is defined by simplicity and clarity, avoiding unnecessary gestures in favor of purposeful design. Each structure is carefully positioned to make the most of the terrain and daylight, while preserving a sense of privacy and openness. The use of untreated larch connects the buildings visually to the surrounding landscape, allowing them to weather and age gracefully in place.

Framed views and quiet interiors
Large windows are sparingly and thoughtfully placed, offering curated views of the hills, meadows, and distant peaks. These apertures invite the outside in while maintaining a sense of shelter. The interiors continue the theme of quiet honesty, emphasizing raw materials, clean lines, and a subtle dialogue with the Alpine environment—an architecture that feels both modern and timeless.
